The Senior Tax Officer is responsible for providing supportive role in managing KC Gaming Networks Limited’s tax compliance, reporting, and advisory obligations across federal and state tax authorities. The role ensures full compliance with applicable tax laws, supports regulatory engagements, mitigates tax risks, and provides tax advisory input to business and operational decisions within the gaming environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Tax Compliance & Reporting
• Prepare, review, and file all statutory tax returns including CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, Gaming-related taxes, and levies.
• Ensure timely and accurate remittance of all tax obligations to FIRS, State Internal Revenue Services, and relevant regulatory bodies.
• Maintain up-to-date tax schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Support implementation and compliance with emerging tax frameworks (e.g. eRMC, WHT on winnings, digital tax reporting).
2. Tax Accounting & Reconciliations
• Reconcile tax balances to the general ledger and trial balance on a monthly basis.
• Review tax provisions, accruals, and deferred tax computations in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Support preparation of tax disclosures for statutory financial statements.
3. Audit & Regulatory Engagement
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax consultants, and tax authorities on tax-related matters.
• Coordinate and respond to tax audits, investigations, assessments, and enquiries.
• Track and resolve audit issues, tax exposures, and compliance gaps.
4. Tax Advisory & Risk Management
• Provide tax advisory support to management on transactions, new products, promotions, and channel operations.
• Identify tax risks and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and cost efficiency.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
5. Process Improvement & Controls
• Strengthen tax-related internal controls and documentation (RCM, SOPs, ICFR).
• Support automation and process improvements in tax reporting and compliance.
• Ensure proper segregation of duties and audit trails within tax processes.
6. Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with Treasury, Management Accounts, Channels, Payroll, IT, and Compliance teams to ensure end-to-end tax accuracy.
• Support payroll tax computations and statutory deductions.
• Provide tax inputs for budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
Professional qualification: ICAN / ACCA / ACA (mandatory)
Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in tax compliance, preferably within gaming, fintech, or regulated environments
Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory requirements
